PremiumHike explains the bill and the non-renewal letter, carrier by carrier and state by state. Every figure has a source. If we did not re-read it, the page says needs verification.

What the national numbers actually say

In 2024, 715 homeowners companies with at least $50,000 of direct premium in a state had 103,289,334 policies in force and wrote $165.2 billion of direct premium, about $1,600 per policy. Sources

Adjusted for inflation, average premium per policy rose between 18.3% and 43.3% across NAIC zones from 2018 to 2024, which the NAIC describes as about 2.4% to 5.3% a year. The largest moves were in 2023 and 2024. These are zone figures. A street, a ZIP code, or one company can sit far from the zone average. Sources

Insurers reported 2,019,799 company-initiated homeowners nonrenewals in 2024. The rate per 1,000 policies rose between 96% and 216% by zone from 2018 to 2024. Sources
