CALCULATOR
What the increase costs
Use the annual premium on last year’s declarations and the annual premium on the renewal offer. The math stays in your browser. It is not a quote and not a forecast.
How to read it
The NAIC said inflation-adjusted average premiums rose about 2.4% to 5.3% a year from 2018 to 2024, depending on zone. A single renewal above that band is not evidence of an error. It is a reason to ask whether a rate revision, a replacement-cost change, or both are in the offer.
Does a repeating increase mean my premium will actually compound?
No. The three-year and five-year repeating lines are a what-if. They apply the same percent again each year so you can see the dollars. The NAIC’s 2.4% to 5.3% a year description is an inflation-adjusted regional pace for 2018–2024, not a prediction for your carrier.
Should I raise the deductible to get the premium down?
Only if you can pay that deductible after a total loss, including a percentage hurricane or wind deductible. A lower premium that you cannot fund at claim time is not a saving this calculator can bless.
